I found this book tag on https://www.kimberlyfayereads.com/2017/07/23/summer-lovin-book-tag/ and I BELIEVE the creater of this was Richard on BookTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsND3O0wTvr6X3IjgieVnuA
I hope you enjoy this tag and if you like the questions then you're tagged too!
1-Start of summer- Pick a book with an attention grabbing first sentence?
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven has an amazing first sentence and it got me hooked. It’s “Is today a good day to die?” If that doesn’t get you hooked and make you instantly want to read it then I don’t know what will! I highly recommend this book, it touches upon mental health and has great characters and an even more amazing plot.
2- Too hot to go Out: Pick a book for a day in?
I would probably choose to reread A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas. I have been dying to reread it and annotate it because I did not do that the first time. I feel like that would be the perfect day-in read.
3- Summer Road trip: Pick a book you’d take with you on the road?
I would pick The Lux series by Jennifer L Armentrout because I have not finished this series yet and I have the binded versions so all of the books are combined which would make it easier to bring on the road with me. I might choose the audiobook because I get car sick reading (It is a very upsetting thing to happen when all you want to do is read 24/7).
4- Iced Tea Goodness: Pick a book with a cold setting?
I have always wanted to pick up The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons and since there is a snow on the cover this seemed like a good answer. However, it is a very intimidating book so I doubt I will pick it up anytime soon, though hopefully someday I will find the courage to start it.
5- Nasty Sunburn: A book you really disliked (so far) this year?
OKAY so I am breaking the rules with this one because I want to talk about how much I DISLIKE Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. I read it a couple of years ago so I am kind of not answering the question correctly but I shhh don’t tell anyone. I made a video hating on it on my YouTube channel and I got hate on that video though some did agree with me. There were just a lot of plot holes and the writing was not good for it being extremely hyped. I did not like the characters in the least bit. Let me know your thoughts on the book if you have read it because I am so curious to everyone’s opinions regarding this book.
6- Sizzling Read: Recommend one of your favorite books? I’m gonna take a second to shout out The Wicked King by Holly Black. It is the second book in a series (The first book is The Cruel Prince) and I absolutely ADORED both of them. The characters and the writing are fantastic. Cardan is an amazing character with so much character development. I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a good fantasy book.
